The title is as it sounds, but to provide some much needed clarity, unreal is fantastic at providing realism- I don't deny that one bit.
The issue is that as an artist, there are many times you don't actually want to go for the realism look
There are many thing that the tech side of me dislikes in realism
/// the large texture sizes... the attention to detail you need to have...
and I've always had found I had a unique and specific enjoyment of more stylised approaches to games, rather than hyper realism
I understand the appeal of it sure- it's just not for me..
So In my project Starchaser- I avoided that as much as I could.
I did that using a couple of simple steps, including an unused one, but I'll show that anyway
